When you have completed your training and are ready to request your exam, please make sure you know the accrediting body that accredits it. You can find this from your course's page on our website. This will determine which steps you will need to take in order to achieve your certification. When you are ready to request your exam please make sure it is during the time frame specified, your relevant supporting documents and workbooks have been completed, and no other obstacle is causing your exam request to be rejected.

Exams must be requested within 30 days of the final day of the course. Requesting your exam outside of this time will result in getting declined and there may be a fee. For more information, please visit Getting an Extension on Your Exam
Booking an Exam Accredited by The Knowledge Academy
Some of our courses are accredited by The Knowledge Academy, this means your exam is taken via our eLearning platform. If you have taken the course via the eLearning delivery method, the exam will be the final module of your Course labelled Final Examination. If you have taken your course via another delivery method, such as Classroom, Onsite or Online Instructor Led - you will need to request your Exam via the MyTKA Portal.
How to request your Knowledge Academy exam via MyTKA Portal
Log in to your MyTKA Portal account, navigate to your course page, then scroll down to the Exam Step and click "Request Exam".
Our Exams team will review your request and carry out some checks to make sure you have completed the course and then will release your exam. This will be available via the Exam Step on the MyTKA Portal Course Page.
Booking an Exam Accredited by PeopleCert
To book your PeopleCert Exam, please visit the MyTKA Portal - From here, you can find your course page and navigate down to the exam step.
You will be able to click "Request Exam" and follow the slide-out that appears. Follow the steps there and click Confirm.
Some PeopleCert Exams require you to complete a Workbook; if this is the case, please complete the Workbook and attach it to your Exam Request where prompted. Your Exam will be declined if you do not attach this.
Following this, our exams team will process your request and come back to you via email with the next steps to book your exam.
To redeem your Exam Code, please read the Candidate Guidelines and follow the steps below:
1. Visit https://www.peoplecert.org/
2. Create your PeopleCert Account. If you already have an account, please sign in.
3. Enter the Exam Code provided to you in the email
4. Follow the on-screen instructions, submit the required information, and schedule your exams.

Points to Note for Language:
- Please make sure you select the correct Native Language while creating your profile.
- You need to select your exam language when redeeming the voucher.
- The extra time will be automatically allocated if the native language in your profile is different from the exam language.
For a PeopleCert e-book, you can redeem this from PeopleCert once you have entered your voucher code.

Booking an Exam accredited by APM
To book your APM (Associate for Project Management) Exam, you should visit your MyTKA Portal account. From here, you can access your APM Course. Under the Exam Step, you can select a Date and time for your exam. (NB: We require 5 days' notice for your exam slot)
Once you have requested your exam, the exam will change to "Pending" - at this stage the exams team will process your request and book this in for you. Please keep an eye out for an email from our Exam Team confirming your exam has been booked or to advise any amendments required.
Once your exam is booked, you will receive an email from APM directly. If you have not received confirmation 7 days prior to your exam date, please contact APM at 01844 271680.
For APM PPQ Exams - You will need to Request Your Exam, and we will email you with availability due to the exam board releasing only a few dates per quarter.

Booking an Exam accredited by APMG
To book your APMG Exam, you can log in to your MyTKA Portal account and find your course. Under the Exam Step, you will see the ability to Book your exam. When prompted, please select the dates for your exam that work for you. We require 24 hours notice to book an APMG exam. Please note that we can not release a Practitioner exam until the Foundation Exam is completed and marked as Passed.
Once you complete this, your exam will turn to "Pending" - at this stage the exams team will process your request and book this in for you. Please keep an eye out for an email from our Exam Team confirming your exam has been booked or to advise any amendments required.
You will get confirmation from APMG for your exam booking.
Some APMG Exams require you to complete a Workbook; if this is the case, please complete the Workbook and attach it to your Exam Request where prompted. Your Exam will be declined if you do not attach this!

Booking an Exam accredited by BCS
To book a BCS Exam, the majority of these require you to visit your MyTKA Portal and follow the steps under the Exam Step for that Exam.
This will normally be to select a date and time for your exam. We require 24 hours to book in most BCS exams*.
Once you complete this, your exam will turn to "Pending" - at this stage the exams team will process your request and book this in for you. Please keep an eye out for an email from our Exam Team confirming your exam has been booked or to advise any amendments required.
Once your exam is booked, you will receive a confirmation email from BCS and a link to Zoom 24 hours before the exam date - please note that your exam will be held via Zoom.

Booking an Exam Accredited by The Open Group
To book your Open Group Exam, please visit the MyTKA Portal - From here, you can find your course page and navigate down to the exam step.
You will be able to click "Request Exam" and follow the slide-out that appears. Follow the steps there and click Confirm.
Once this has been approved by our Exams team, you will receive an email from us with your Vouchers and instructions on how to book the exam in with the exam board.
Booking an Exam Accredited by SAFE
For the SAFE exam, please note that there is no need to place an exam request. You will receive the exam information directly from the accrediting body after attending the session, provided that the invoice has been paid.
If your invoice is unpaid, please raise a support ticket to resolve the issue.
When to Book your Exam
From the moment your Virtual Classroom course concludes or your E-Learning access expires, you will have a 30-day window to request your exam voucher. For E-Learning courses accredited by The Knowledge Academy, your exam will be available at the end of your program.
Once you have requested your exam voucher, you can book an exam date and time of your choosing, subject to availability. Please refer to the steps above on how to request an exam voucher.
Exam Workbooks
The workbooks are a tool for you to use to gain a better understanding of the subject of your course. Completing the workbooks has shown to increase your chances of passing your exam in the first attempt. To be able to sit your exam some courses require you to complete and upload workbooks at the time of requesting the exam. Your work will not be graded or reviewed by a trainer and is for reference only. This is for you and our accreditors to ensure you have received the proper training and feel confident before sitting the exam. Once you have completed your workbook and have attached it to your exam request our team will then look to approve your request.
Exam Rejection Reasons
Exam requests will either be accepted or rejected within 1 full working day of the request being made. When you are ready to request your exam please make sure it is during the time frame specified, your relevant supporting documents and workbooks have been completed, and no other obstacle is causing your exam request to be rejected. You must request your exam within 30-days after you have finished your virtual course or within 30-days of your E-Learning expiring. If your exam request is rejected please consider the following points as potential reasons:
- You have not requested your exam within 30-days after your E-Learning expires.
- You are attempting to book your exam before completing your training course.
- You are requesting your exam before your payment has gone through/ invoice has been paid.
- You are requesting a practitioner exam before completing the foundation exam. In this instance, your exam request will be put on hold. Once you have passed your foundation exam, your practitioner voucher will be released. The practitioner exams must still be requested within 30-days of completing the course.
- You have not completed or have not uploaded the course workbook
