The Exam Process

Your exam process depends on if your exam is an exam accredited by The Knowledge Academy, or an external examining body.

All TKA exams are done on our E-Learning platform. The exam will take the form of a multiple choice quiz. Upon completion, you will receive your result.

Externally accredited exams will take place through an invigilated virtual room. You will be required to show your room with a webcam and an invigilator will be present.

Open or Closed Book Exams

In a closed book exam, you are not able to take any course material with you and will be required to use your memory to complete your paper. In an open book exam, you are able to take in course materials for support in answering your questions. In general, if you are sitting a foundation exam your test is likely to be a closed book paper. If you are sitting a practitioner exam your test is likely to be an open book paper. If you are unsure and want clarification on which type of exam you will be sitting, you should raise a ticket on our tickets page or check on our website for more information.

Exams Process For A Combined Foundation and Practitioner Course

If you are taking a combined foundation and practitioner course you will be required to sit two separate exams. You will not need to take your foundation exam once your foundation learning is complete. For example, on a course running Monday - Friday your foundation content could be covered by Wednesday. This does not mean you have to take the foundation exam the same day. You can take both of the exams at the end of your training course. As mentioned in the open or closed book section you can often use resources during your practitioner exam. You will be able to request your practitioner exam before you have completed your foundation exam. However, this will not be accepted until you have finished your foundation exam.
